Procedures at Underlining Beauty

Beauty Treatments

There are 3 main procedures that are featured on this website and I thought I would talk about each one separately and outline what they are for and add some details on each procedure. Underlining beauty specialises in Anti-wrinkle injections, Dermal Fillers and injections for Hyperhidrosis.

Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly referred to as ‘Botox injections’, short for Botulinum toxin. This is a naturally occurring protein that causes the muscles of the face to relax, consequently smoothing out wrinkles. It is the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatment for the removal of wrinkles. There is an initial consultation, where I will explore your reasons for wanting the procedure and a short questionnaire. If you wish to continue with the procedure, this will take between 20-30 minutes from start to finish. It involves a number of small injections to the agreed facial areas followed by some aftercare instructions, which I will inform you about before you leave. The procedure is not described as painful but does involve a small sting from the needle when inserted.

Dermal fillers (also known as Facial fillers) use a natural gel to smooth out wrinkles, folds or scars to give your face a younger, refreshed more plumped appearance. Dermal filler is a naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into the face to smooth wrinkles and folds (especially around the nose and mouth). It is also used to plump out scars or dents in the face. The procedure requires an initial consultation to assess if the treatment is appropriate, followed by a health questionnaire. The whole procedure, including consultation is approximately 1 hour. This is a slightly longer procedure than others as numbing cream is applied prior to the injections, which take 30-40 minutes to take effect.

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. Perspiration is a perfectly normal bodily function, and sweat plays an important role in moderating the body’s temperature. However, hyperhidrosis sufferers sweat more than necessary, and this can be both uncomfortable and – if sweat patches become visible – embarrassing. Injection with botox can reduce and in most cases stop this excessive perspiration completely. A consultation is required before this procedure can be carried out as there are numerous treatments already available to alleviate this problem that can be explored first. However, if it is deemed appropriate, the procedure involves marking each armpit, then administering up to 20 injections of Botox under each arm. These are very small stings with only small amounts of fluid being injected in each site around the sweat glands. The procedure takes approximately 45 minutes. Aftercare involves not using perfumed products for up to 24 hours, excessive exercise 24 hours post treatment and avoiding heavy contact with the area following washing, drying.

I hope this gives you a good overview of the different procedures we offer and I will look forward to seeing you soon if you wish to follow up with booking a consultation for one of these procedures.
